Abstract

Kota Neelima is a renowned political author. The Death of a Moneylender (2016) is written by her. This work shows the miserable condition of farmers along with the situation of a moneylender, who remains attached with farmers. Until now, we have only read about the psychological, physical, social and economic conditions of the debt-ridden farmers. This work provides an insight into the psychological and economic condition of a moneylender, who remained attached with poor farmers of his village. He got hurt by the dealing of other moneylenders with debt ridden farmers of his village. When a helping moneylender tries to help the debt ridden farmers, then he starts getting threats from the other moneylenders. It primarily focuses on psychological and emotional condition of a moneylender, who worried for the poor, debt-ridden and marginal farmers of his village.
